| Holy Cross School of Nursing at Kamagere is an undertaking of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Menzingen, was founded by Fr. Theodosius Florentini in a village called Menzingen in Switzerland in the year 1844, with the assistance of its Co-founder Mother Bernarda Heimgartner. An indefatigable and far-sighted founder recognized the need of his time and wanted to alleviate the educational, religious and social needs,and show the people a new direction. | |

| Holy Cross School of Nursing came into existence at the felt need of giving Professional Training & Higher Education for village women as part of Women Empowerment Programme. The rediscovery of the founding Charism & the purpose of the the Congregation gave a thrust to the ministry of education & formation of the young girls. Keeping this in mind the Holy Cross School of Nursing, the first Nursing School in the district of Chamarajanagar was started in the year 1997. Admission is open to all the candidates but preference is given to the candidate from Karnataka State. | |

" Father Theodosius Florentini (1808 - 1865), who was determined to fight the anti-religious rationalism and radical liberalism by education of youth in faith and morals with a special emphasis on women. He upheld the Christian principles in educational system. The congregation of the "Teaching sisters" of the Holy Cross was found in the year 1844 in order to achieve women's education. Mother Bernarda Heimgartner (1822 - 1863) was the Co-foundress. | |
